Happy New Year!   2022 was NOT a good reading year for me.  I read a ton of Colleen Hoover and a couple of classics.  I didn't hit my Goodreads goal.  Didn't do a single read-a-thon or reading challenge.   But this year I am prepared! I have a plan!  I am going to share that today here on the Monday Book Report!  BOOKISH CHALLENGES:  BOOKSTAGRAM CHALLENGES:  The one I am most excited about is a year-long read-a-long of War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy! It is being hosted on Instagram by @footnotes.and.tangents   with over 500 people speaking 12 languages!   #whiskyandperseverance  #warandpeace2023  I am going to also do a couple books with the Game of Tomes challenge hosted by Carolynmariereads and Emmie.Reads  on Instagram.  You can view the entire challenge HERE  I will be joining in the following months:  March: David Copperfield April: Catcher in the Rye September: Northanger Abbe...

My Top 22 books of 2022 - A Special Monday Book Report

2022 was not a great reading year for me. I thought that I would be able to squeak together a top 10 for the year, but I was surprised when I was able to look back and find 22 books that I enjoyed enough to share here today.  I was only able to mark three classic novels off my list (in bold).  I read SEVEN Colleen Hoover novels.  The five that are underlined?  I remember NOTHING about them.  That tells me that I need to re-think reading those types of books.  The 7 books in italics are the ones that I most enjoyed the storyline and it has stayed with me.   Les Miserables, Victor Hugo 5+ It Ends with Us, Colleen Hoover: 5 It Starts with Us, Colleen Hoover: 5 Heart Bones, Colleen Hoover: 5 Golden Girl, Elin Hilderbrand: 5 Reminders of Him, Colleen Hoover: 5 Heartbreak Bay (Stillhouse Lake, #5) Rachel Caine: 5 Crash & Burn (Tess Leoni #3), Lisa Gardner: 5 A Year of Puttery Treats, Alison May: 5 Persuasion, Jane Austen 4.5 The Children...

I am joining in with  Kimberly @caffeinated book reviewer for the Sunday Post  I am also joining in with The Book Date for  "It's Monday! What are YOU Reading?"   LAST WEEK ON THE BLOG: Last week I posted Happy Homemaker Monday and Sunday Post/What Are You Reading ?                                NEXT WEEK ON THE BLOG: This week I plan to post this post, of course, along with my weekly Happy Homemaker Monday and I hope to do a review of "Evelina" and perhaps another weekly meme if I can find one that applies to me!  WHAT I READ LAST WEEK:  Last week I finished:                  Too Late by Colleen Hoover   I love Colleen Hoover - but I did not love this book.  Too many "F" bombs and too many unneeded sex scenes for my taste.  Still give it *** for the story.  From Amazon:   Sloan will go thr...
