Happy Homemaker Monday for January 27th, 2025

Image
Just when I finally got back to blogging - COVID reared its ugly head again!  I didn't even leave the house and I got it!  Jennah went to the store and lo and behold she brought the virus with her.  It wasn't nearly as bad as 2021, but I was in bed around 6 days and then another 10 days I've had issues with shortness of breath (getting better) brain fog (almost gone) and a wonky heart.  The last time started my a-fib, so I will need to see if this time made it worse. My meds do not seem to be cutting it now.  I did very little of anything - reading, blogging, writing, etc.   *** The weather in my neck of the woods***   We had some frigidly cold weather while I was sick, but I never even noticed! We are now having very typical weather in the upper 20's during the days.  Some sun, some dreariness, and some snow.        *** Things that make me happy *** Reading a r...

Happy Homemaker Monday & Happy New Year!

*** The weather in my neck of the woods***   We are not getting the polar vortex as badly as a lot of places. Our highs will be in the 20s and the lows in the teens. That's just normal January weather in Michigan.  But I like the cold!        *** Things that make me happy *** The first Diet Dr. Pepper of the day. Soup simmering on the stove. When Jeff says the most amazing things and I think "he can't possibly be talking about ME!"       *** Book I'm reading *** Reading  Starting: Angela's Hope by Leah Banicki  Just starting: Wherever the River Runs by Kelly Minter Up next: Unsure Bible Study:  Started Bible Recap. What an amazing resource! I am following through You Version, doing the scripture writing plan with the Beloved Society and when I have the time, I follow the videos from 2024 for Heart Dive.  I am reading Job right now.  Devotion:...

Happy Homemaker Monday - Last of the Year

Image
I have truly missed you all. I sort of pulled myself out of life for about six months. Depression. But thanks be to God, I'm starting to pull myself out!  *** The weather in my neck of the woods***   Can we talk about how much I can't stand the weather this winter? We have been in the upper 30s to 50 (yesterday, almost 60) and not a flake of snow. It rained all day today.  It's really quite depressing.        *** Things that make me happy *** Family. Writing. Reading. Relaxing after work. A cup of hot tea. Ollie Bear. Planning.      *** Book I'm reading ***   In the Bible, I am reading through Revelation and went back to an online class I started a long while ago.  I am also reading:  Finishing up The Court of Mist and Fury  Just starting: Wherever the Winter Runs by Kelly Minter Up next: The View from Rainshadow Bay by Colleen Coble  Bible Study:  In January ...

The Last Six Months of 2024

Image
I'm not sure that I have ever been consistent with much throughout my life. This blog - and blogging in general - are a testament to that. I started a website last year and that lasted all of a few months before I realized it wasn't the right fit. I may try again later this year, but I'll be keeping this blog as well. This has been a very hard year for me. I know it has been for so many others too.  Without getting into specifics, the world is on fire. That weighs very heavily on my heart! I allowed it to keep me in a deep depression for several months.   My fiance has been gone for the past three months and won't be home until about mid-February. He is taking care of his older brother through some health issues. He's having a hip replaced on January 13th, so any prayers you can send his way will be appreciated!   I lost my beloved cat very quickly to cancer in June. My heart is still broken. I loved that little scamp! He was just about to turn 10. He s...

I am linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday I have a lot of exciting things going on!  I've been so busy getting things taken care of.  I'll fill you in next Monday!   ♥♥ The Weather ♥♥ It's that perfect springtime weather - sunny and 70 one day and raining and 50 the next!    ♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥♥   It's raining, muddy, and gray.  But the lilacs are just starting to bloom on the tree outside my office window and there are buds on the trees.     ♥♥ Right now I am ♥♥ Just about to start work and praying it will not be another whirlwind day like yesterday!  After an hour-and-a-half of overtime, I still had over 80 emails to close out!  We are short handed and yesterday was end of month/end of quarter!  ♥♥ Thinking and pondering ♥♥ I was thinking earlier this morning that I might just be over-planning myself.  Every morning, I fill out my Prayerful Planner...

Happy Homemaker Monday

I am linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay-at-Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday . ♥♥ The Weather ♥♥ It's basically spring.  70 on Monday.  60 on Tuesday.  50 the rest of the week!    ♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥♥   Waiting for that green to start sprouting.  I know it's still early but I'm so sick of this ugliness.    ♥♥ Right now I am ♥♥ Resting my back. I ran errands this morning and my back is screaming at me!  ♥♥ Thinking and pondering ♥♥ I was just thinking that I need to stock up on more food.  I feel a strong pull to have enough food and water put aside for several months.  I have enough right now for about two months.   ♥♥On my bedside table ♥♥ I took most of the books into my craft/study room.  My Bible is next to the bed, my five year prayer journal, pens, and some Fresca.  ♥♥ How am I feeling ♥♥ Hurting a lot today.  I have been feeling better mood-wise for the past month or ...
