Spark Joy in Your Soul

I wanted to get this posted before my job sucks the life out of my soul for the day. 😔

Every weekend I have such high hopes that I'll fix my entire life and enter into Monday as a new woman. Am I alone? You'd expect that thinking this way for over a decade and not seeing it come to fruition would deter me - but no. I can't tell me nothin'.

So, what I'm going to do each weekend, if not become a brand spankin' new woman - is plan things that will spark joy in my soul. I encourage you to do the same.

FRIDAY: (74 and sunny)

*On my lunch break (yes! It's close enough to the weekend that I can count it if I want to) I am going to read my current read "A Tree Grows in Brookly" (highly recommend btw!) outside on my balcony. In case you didn't know. I've made my balcony into a peaceful oasis in the middle of SW Detroit.

*After work (God-willing I still have the desire) my sister, daughter, and I are going to a local park to take a walk. We want nature! I feel closest to God in nature and it revives me!

SATURDAY: (83 and partly cloudy, possible late day thunderstorm)

*I'll write in my prayer journal out on the balcony during my morning routine

*Writing sprints from around 9-11 (with a break from 9:30-10 to join my favorite WW workshop online) and again 3-5

*We'll go back to the park at 11 for another walk

*During the rest of the day I hope to read out on the balcony again and get just a little cleaning done (helps spark joy once it's done! lol)

*Saturday night I am hoping to watch the movie "Troy" - as I am currently reading The Iliad and it was a recommended addition.

 SUNDAY: (77 and partly sunny)

Today is the day the LORD has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it

*It is the Sabbath, and I plan to make it so!

*I will be fasting until late afternoon. I'm new to fasting! I'm also a new type II diabetic, so I have to be careful - but I will do it safely.

*Prayer, prayer journaling, and reading on the balcony today

*Daily Bible Recap, plus I want to do a further study on Titus 2 and the attributes of a Titus 2 woman.

*Lots of reading

*Set up my prayer corner

What will you add to your weekend that will spark joy in your soul?
