***Past week's pondering***

It was cold! My car got stuck in the ice - but we got it out. I went out to dinner with Jeff. He spent a lot of time taking care of his mom, as his brother who had the stroke is the one who usually takes care of her. (She has 4 living sons and they all help take care of her) I worked overtime on Wednesday and Thursday. Just a regular week. Busy and blessed. 

                                      *** The weather in my neck of the woods*** 

Like most places in the country - it is COLD, snowy, and slippery! And this morning we had some thunder-snow - which is one of my favorite things! 

We have highs of teens all week and lows In the negatives most days. Chance of snow three days out of seven. So, it's typical January weather around here! 


*** Thinking about ***

I'm thinking about that I think about too much! I wake up with my mind going a thousand miles a minute. I get a lot of it out by keeping a daily planner listing out all I need to get done and by doing morning pages. 

 
*** What I am wearing *** 

Gray motor city t-shirt, black sweats with a white stripe down the side, fuzzy slippers, long black sweater because it's COLD 

*** On The Reading Pile*** 
Still plucking away on War and Peace! A chapter a day. 
Also reading The 12-Week-Year a little here and there

Tuesday: WFPB Chili Mac (freezer meal) 
 
Wednesday KFC bowls (rotisserie chicken, corn, stuffing, gravy) 

Thursday : Black bean and corn tacos 



Sunday : Cajun 15-bean soup

I'm in 2 Samuel. David is just about to officially become King! I'm enjoying both the Beth Moore and the Daily Grace studies on his life. 


*** This week's prayer list***
Continued prayers for my soon-to-be brother-in-law's eyesight 
Continues prayers for the young girl in Pakistan - her court case was moved out another week
Prayers for my good friend's mother - she fell and nearly amputated her foot! Thankfully, her other daughter and son-in-law were there and called an ambulance. She had surgery the next morning and is now recovering in the hospital. We're praying for a full recovery and no infection! 

There are too many horrible things happening in our country and all over the world. Evil is everywhere. But our God is bigger!

Happy Homemaker Monday for April 26th, 2021

I am linking up with Sandra from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday On My Breakfast Plate: It was actually a bowl of chicken noodle soup!  The weather in my neck of the woods .....  Today is in the mid 50s - tomorrow the mid 80s!  I am hopeful there will be some sunshine so I can enjoy my new bench on my balcony and get some Vitamin D. Right now I am.... THE COVID CHRONICLES Right now I am recovering from COVID-19.  Back on Easter Sunday my girls and I went to my dad's to cook dinner.  Once we were already there, my dad mentioned he wasn't feeling quite right.  Soon after he and my sister found out they were positive.  A couple of days after that my daughters both tested positive.  Then me.  Then my other sister.   Dad was hospitalized for a few days at the beginning.  His oxygen dipped down into the 80s.  I am so thankful to God that he was released shortly after.  NO pneumonia!  No blood clo...

The Monday Book Report, Edition #3

I am linking up with  Mailbox Monday It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?  The Sunday Post @ caffeinatedbookreviewer  WHAT DID I READ THIS WEEK:   It was a pretty slow reading week actually.  I only finished two books. I made it 1/2-way through a third book, but we'll talk about that one next week.  The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery    4***** and Porch Lights, by Dorothea Benton Frank   4.5 ****-1/2 I was so pleasantly surprised by "Porch Lights".  The characters are FABULOUS. I wanted to be just like the mom character only 5% into the book!  This story is about relationships. How family is important not just in hard times, but ALL the time.  The setting is stunning too.  The South Carolina Lowcountry.    I want a whole series of books revolving around these characters!   FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK I READ:  Two this week....
