How to Invigorate Your Prayer Life - A Bite Sized Bible Study: Part 1

Image
I know some people have amazing prayer lives, but I've never been one of them.  I talk to God, I thank God, I talk to Him throughout the day.  I'm not consistent. I don't go to Him first a lot of the time.  My prayer life is LACKING.  Toward the end of 2023, I began to feel God calling me to a deeper prayer life. It's been on my mind every day since, yet I haven't made any changes.  That's why I've decided to do this 10-part bite-sized Bible study.   Each post will contain a different way to improve your prayer life.  More than anything though - it's your connection during prayer that is most important.  Not what you say or how you say it, but truly connecting with God.  #1 PRAYING THE WORD:  We want God's Word with us at all times, especially when we pray.   "If you abide in me and my words abide in you , ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7)"  The Bible speaks a lot about prayer.   I am linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday ♥♥ The Weather ♥♥ We had the frigid cold last week and we've had a little bit of snow here and there.  We've got a few inches on the ground and more coming tomorrow.  BUT - we are heading back into the low 40s, so it will melt and be muddy and awful again.  BAH.    ♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥♥   Right now it is pretty and white - just how it should be.    ♥♥ Right now I am ♥♥ Working although I'm not feeling well.  I think I may have caught whatever my dad has.  ♥♥ Thinking and pondering ♥♥ Really worried about my Dad. He tested negative for COVID but I'm asking him to take a second test.  I'm also worried about another bout of pneumonia.  ♥♥On my bedside table ♥♥ Still a mess  ♥♥ How am I feeling ♥♥ Overwhelmed. Exhausted. Run down.      ♥♥ Listening to ♥♥ 48 Hours    ♥♥ On the lunch plate ♥♥  ...

How to Grow a Life of Prayer

Image
One of the things that hit my soul hard at the end of 2023 was that I needed to invest more into my prayer life.  I am not consistent.  I pray more often when things are going wrong.  I don't thank God enough for all that He does or who He is.  I want to be a "prayer warrior". I want to send the enemy running with my intercessory prayers. When I tell someone that I will pray for their situation ..... I want to fervently pray for their situation.  I asked myself, what am I doing wrong?  A lot of time my prayers feel awkward and rote. I have all of this emotion and what comes out doesn't represent how I am feeling at all.  God put it on my heart to look into changing my prayer life into a LIFE of PRAYER.  And this morning when I wrote it in my planner - 'how to improve prayer life' my pen just kept going and I wrote 'a 10-part series'.  Um, ok? I didn't realize I was sharing this journey, but Your will before mine!  I'll be posting ...

I am linking up with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday ♥♥ The Weather ♥♥ Like many of you, we are under the cover of the Polar Vortex.  The "real feel" this morning was -21 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm still busy having hot flashes though, so it's not affecting me much!  ha ha ha  Monday and Tuesday will range from below zero to a high of 10. Then we will climb out and sit at around 20-ish the rest of the week with a lot of clouds.    ♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥♥   We had a decent snow storm the other day, but then it switched to rain and ended up being very icy.  I'm quite jealous of those in Northern Michigan as they got 18 inches of snow and are expecting more.    ♥♥ Right now I am ♥♥ Just finished reading a little bit and decided to get this post typed up.  Today is the last of my four-day weekend.  I wanted to do so many things.  I did a few things and a lot of napping and resting. ...
