  Here we are, in the last week of January already! I can't believe we are at the end of Sarah's story - yet in a way - it is only the beginning!   In the last post, Sarah had laughed at God when He said she would have a child by the next year.  But here she was, PREGNANT shortly after that!   Alright ladies, I don't know about you, but I am 52 and the thought of this old body trying to grow an entirely new person inside of my belly - the thought is, well honestly, I can't even imagine it!  As I am sure that Sarah couldn't either.  This woman who had worked her fingers to the bone for 90 years.  Her joints and muscles after all those miles walked while traveling. The hard work of everyday life. Yet here she was, harboring a new life.   If you remember from last time, Abraham had fallen face down, laughing at the thought of having a child at 100 years old with his barren wife.  But God was not joking.  He said that Sarah would, indeed, have a son within the year and they were to name him Isaac.  Soon after, Sarah and Abraham had three visitors. There is MUCH discussion on who these men were.  God and two angels.  Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Three completely different angels. Whoever they were - they were heavenly!  The husband and wife jumped into high gear being hospitable and turning out the finest fare.  Sarah overheard one of these men saying:    “I will surely return to you about this time next year,  and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now it was Sarah's turn to laugh!  It seems she laughed quietly to herself, but God heard her!  He asked why she had laughed and then she lied to Him!  Can you imagine?  But this is one of my favorite ...

  Hello lovelies! We are back on the dusty roads with Sarai and Abram today.  They had travelled out of Egypt and were finally settled near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, in Canaan.  The Lord comes to Abram in a vision and says:  “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, a your very great reward" Abram questions God, asking how he can be blessed since he remains childless, and a servant will receive all of his wealth when he dies.  God tells him a son of his own flesh will be his heir. The he tells him to look at the stars and tells him this is the amount of his offspring.  So here is where Sarai did something that many of us have done.  She took things into her own hands.  She didn't believe she would give Abram an heir, so she told him to produce a son with their maidservant, Hagar. Hello my lovelies!  I hope you are doing well.  I wanted to talk about one of my very favorite Bible Study Techniques: Verse Mapping.  Verse Mapping takes you deeper into the meaning of scripture. You break down the verse into visually arranged components. You will be able to have a fuller understanding of what you are reading.  I will go ahead and work through a verse and show you how this technique can be a great addition to your studies.  1. Pick a Scripture, pray over the scripture, read it aloud and then write it out:  Since I am currently studying Sarai in the Bible, I am choosing Hebrews 11:11.  By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. 2.
