The Sunday Book Report #3

Today I am linking up with :

Mailbox Monday

It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?

***************************************************************************

WHAT DID I READ THIS WEEK:
I didn't finish anything this week.  BUT - I did get Canary Girls back from the library.

I also read quite a bit of East of Eden as well as annotated it and watched a video regarding the writing of it.

I've always liked John Steinbeck but the more I learn about him, the cooler he is as a writer.

FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK I READ:

WHAT BOOKS DID I BUY/BORROW THIS WEEK:

I borrowed a few things from the library this week!

MAGAZINES:
*Everyday Faith Magazine
*Vegan Food & Living Magazine
*Plant Based Cookbook Magazine

BOOKS:
*Beans 20 Ways
*WW Family Meals Cookbook
*Skinny Taste Cookbook

WHAT IS THE BOOK I MOST WANT TO GET MY HANDS ON RIGHT NOW:

Kristin Hannah "The Women" - Coming February 6th, 2024.  I really love her writing.  I'm trying not to buy many books this year, but I really want to read this one.

This book's premise (a woman main character in VietNam) brings me back to my early 20's to one of my favorite books at that time, Danielle Steel's Message from Nam.  That book made me want to be a journalist!

WHAT ARE MY READING PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK:
Finish Canary Girls.  Finish Miracle Morning.  Finish Covered Wagon Women.  Make progress on East of Eden.

WHAT CRAFT OR RESEARCH BOOK AM I READING
I'm still reading "Covered Wagon Women" volume 2 as research for a book I'm writing.

WHAT DID I DNF THIS WEEK:
*The 22 Day Revolution

Comments

  1. I haven't read Steinbeck. Really need to add more classics to my reading life. Hannah's book is on my TBR list. Hope you enjoy your week.

  2. The only Steinbeck novel I’m familiar with is Of Mice and Men which I read in highschool. The Women does sound good

  8. I've never read Steinbeck but that's an author I'd like to try! Vegan Food and Living sounds like a good magazine to check out as well.
