Happy Homemaker Monday December 18th, 2017

Welcome to this week's Happy Homemaker Monday.  I am linking up with Sandra at Diary of a SAHM.

The weather::: Well, we had some snow and some cold weather, but Michigan isn't one to follow the rules.  We'll be up to 52 this week, so we will most likely have an ugly green and brown Christmas.

On my reading pile:::  I just finished "Comfort and Joy" by Kristin Hannah.  This is my 3rd book by her this year.  It was a nice romance with just enough Christmas magic.

Right now I am reading "Find Me Unafraid" by Kennedy Odede.    I have wanted to read this book about the Kiberian Slum in Ghana for a long time now, but it was never on sale.  It finally went down a few dollars and I bought it.

I am also reading "The Christmas Bargain" by Shanna Hatfield.  I love this author.  Her mail-order bride books and old West stories are so good.  Her characters are amazing.  This is a series, so I am sure I will be reading them long after Christmas!

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
Re-binge-watching Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman

On my TV:::
Bring It
Christmas Movies
YouTube videos
Dr. Quinn

On the menu for this week:::

M- Emily Bites Taco Flat Breads with Pinto Beans
T- Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti and steamed broccoli
W- Fish Tacos
TH- Breaded pork chops, quinoa, mixed vegetables
F- Chicken sausage pasta casserole
S- Mexican chicken w/ black beans and caulirice

On my to do list:::
Finish wrapping gifts
Buy candy for stockings
Finish grocery shopping for Christmas dinner
Exchange gifts with coworkers

What I am crafting or creating:::  I did a couple of Dollar Tree Christmas crafts that I saw on YouTube!

What I'm wearing today:::  Black pants and short boots, a light blue cardigan and black top with a light blue print on front.

Bible verse, Devotional::: I started the God & Glam Bible study a week before Advent.  It will run through the entire year.

My soul finds rest in God alone, my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and salvation.  He is my fortress.  I will never be shaken." - Psalm 62

  1. We usually get the green and brown Christmas weather around here although every once in a while, a good snow. Hoping for just a little snow this year. Those taco flatbreads remind me of taco pizza and sound really good! Hope you have a great week and a wonderful Christmas!

    1. I've been spoiled most of my life with a white Christmas, so when I do not get them I am disappointed! I haven't tried the taco flatbread yet. It is up for one of the best recipes on the Emily Bites blog so I am hopeful they will be good.

  2. Hello fellow Michigander! While I don't mind the green Christmas, just don't want the ugly brown part of it.... as soon as Christmas is over I will be heading to the Sunny South in Florida, where I will enjoy lots of green!!! Have a great week!

  4. I'm running a bit late while still recovering and not having a HHM this week is allowing me to play catch up. I hope you had a WONDERFUL Christmas and will see you in 2018.
