Happy Homemaker Monday for April 26th, 2021
I am linking up with Sandra from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday
On My Breakfast Plate: It was actually a bowl of chicken noodle soup!
The weather in my neck of the woods..... Today is in the mid 50s - tomorrow the mid 80s! I am hopeful there will be some sunshine so I can enjoy my new bench on my balcony and get some Vitamin D.
Right now I am....
THE COVID CHRONICLES |
Right now I am recovering from COVID-19. Back on Easter Sunday my girls and I went to my dad's to cook dinner. Once we were already there, my dad mentioned he wasn't feeling quite right. Soon after he and my sister found out they were positive. A couple of days after that my daughters both tested positive. Then me. Then my other sister.
Dad was hospitalized for a few days at the beginning. His oxygen dipped down into the 80s. I am so thankful to God that he was released shortly after. NO pneumonia! No blood clots. No heart damage! He is still VERY WEAK, but is doing as great as a 77-year-old can be with COVID!
My sisters and daughters are all pretty much at the end stage of COVID. Three are out of quarantine and the fourth has only had very mild symptoms overall.
As for me ..... (you can scroll past - I am typing all of this out for documentation purposes!)
*Started with weakness, body aches, and shortness of breath.
*Saw my doctor and was started on Azithromycin (antibiotics) a Medrol Dosepak (steroids) and Ivermectin (a more experimental drug that is supposed to attack the SARS 2 Virus)
*Steroids gave me about 3 days of thinking I was getting through it! Lots of energy (cleaned my bedroom, reorganized the kitchen and the linen closet!)
*Lost taste and smell. Started having gastrointestinal issues.
*THEN THE FEVERS. Two nights ago the fevers started. That's where I am now. Last night 102, oxygen levels low but not SUPER low. Enough to be out of breath easily and a noisy mouth breather!
*I've been off work for a week so far and I am supposed to go back to work on Thursday. I hope that I am well enough to do so!
Thinking about....
On the blog last week..... I haven't blogged in awhile due to the COVID issues with my family and my sweet Jeff had his hip replaced and he is now looking at getting the other one done soon.
On my reading pile.... I finished reading (finally!!!!!) The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
I gave it 4.5 stars. It was really good, as are all of her novels. Well researched, great characterizations and story-line.
Book I am just starting this week:
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab
On my TV.....
- Grey's Anatomy
- Sisyphus (Korean Drama)
- Days of Our Lives
- YouTube
New recipe I want to try...... Instant Pot Pad Thai
On my to do list....
Rest
Relax
Recover
Bible Study for the week....
- Very slowly working through the Elijah Study by Priscilla Shirer. It's very good, but I am not following the schedule!
- The Bible Study by Zach Windahl. Jeff and I are currently in the book of 1 Samuel. I'm also doing side studies on the same book through YouVersion for extra content.
- YouVersion daily story (I LOVE these! Check them out)
- YouVersion study on self-esteem and body image as well as one on finding God's will for your life.
SO sorry about your bout with COVID. We are going through that now. My son and my husband. I will be praying as you continue to heal.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jen! I'll be praying for your family as well!
DeleteOh, hoping you and your family recover quickly!!! Your 3 R's (rest, recover, relax) are your best bet.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Two weeks later and I'm still doing that!
DeleteOh my goodness, sounds like you are going through a LOT with COVID! I will be thinking about you and hoping you and your family recover quickly. Your menu this week sounds delicious -- a lot of the same things I love to cook! And I'll be curious what you think of Addie LaRue - that is a hugely popular title right now in my library!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol! I ended up putting Addie LaRue aside until after my COVID brain is gone! I want to be able to fully enjoy it!
DeleteSure hope you are all feeling back to normal soon - will keep you in my prayers. The Four Winds are in my line up to read so - glad you enjoyed it so much. I hope the rest of the week is GREAT and full of healing.
ReplyDeleteThe Four Winds was really good. It's definitely not my favorite by Kristin Hannah - but everything she writes is good!
DeleteSorry to hear you've all had COVID and that you're still dealing with it. Prayers for a speedy recovery! Hope you have a great rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I'm one of those in it for the long haul apparently!
