***Past week's pondering***

It was a week of working, time at the hospital with my sister, a pre-spring walk, and feeling sort of depressed.

Monday :  36 and sunny
Tuesday: 40 and rain
Wednesday 43 and rain
Thursday : 52 and rain
Friday :  58 and rain
Saturday : 65 and rain
Sunday : 51 and partly sunny



*** Thinking about ***
Due to the weather, I chose the later start for the Walk with Jesus 40 in 40 Challenge. I start March 4th and walk 40 miles in 40 days. It's going to be rainy - so I bought a rain coat and I am just going to go for it! 

 
*** What I am wearing ***
A Nirvana T-shirt and pajama pants with forest animals (don't judge me 😂 )

*** On The Reading Pile***
I'm in Part III of War and Peace, I'll be finishing up Book One this week 
Still reading the Yada Yada series 


*** What's on my tv ***
YouTube (thrifting, gardening, cooking, crime) 
America's Next Top Model Documentary 🤷
Finished the War & Peace miniseries on BBC (second time watching it SO GOOD - highly recommend) 

*I want to start a new period piece. I am not sure if I want to re-watch one of my favorites, or something new. I know Sandra has a plethora of great recommendations on her blog!

Breakfasts: 
Protein blueberry pancakes with boiled eggs
Boiled eggs with chicken sausage
Protein bread with nut butter 

Lunches: 
Leftovers
Turkey sandwich on protein bread
Tuna salad


Monday :  BBQ chicken quesadilla

Tuesday: Pizza and salad at Dad's house
 
Wednesday Chili (making a pot for Dad) over a baked potato

Thursday :  Dinner with a friend 

Friday :  Orange ginger chicken with a sesame slaw

Saturday : Seafood pasta (shrimp, scallops, mussels) with a tomato garlic sauce

Sunday : C.O.R.N. Soup or Casserole

Happy Homemaker Monday for April 26th, 2021

I am linking up with Sandra from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday On My Breakfast Plate: It was actually a bowl of chicken noodle soup!  The weather in my neck of the woods .....  Today is in the mid 50s - tomorrow the mid 80s!  I am hopeful there will be some sunshine so I can enjoy my new bench on my balcony and get some Vitamin D. Right now I am.... THE COVID CHRONICLES Right now I am recovering from COVID-19.  Back on Easter Sunday my girls and I went to my dad's to cook dinner.  Once we were already there, my dad mentioned he wasn't feeling quite right.  Soon after he and my sister found out they were positive.  A couple of days after that my daughters both tested positive.  Then me.  Then my other sister.   Dad was hospitalized for a few days at the beginning.  His oxygen dipped down into the 80s.  I am so thankful to God that he was released shortly after.  NO pneumonia!  No blood clo...

The Monday Book Report, Edition #3

I am linking up with  Mailbox Monday It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?  The Sunday Post @ caffeinatedbookreviewer  WHAT DID I READ THIS WEEK:   It was a pretty slow reading week actually.  I only finished two books. I made it 1/2-way through a third book, but we'll talk about that one next week.  The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery    4***** and Porch Lights, by Dorothea Benton Frank   4.5 ****-1/2 I was so pleasantly surprised by "Porch Lights".  The characters are FABULOUS. I wanted to be just like the mom character only 5% into the book!  This story is about relationships. How family is important not just in hard times, but ALL the time.  The setting is stunning too.  The South Carolina Lowcountry.    I want a whole series of books revolving around these characters!   FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK I READ:  Two this week....
