Happy Homemaker Monday (from Starbucks!)

You can visit Sandra and join HHM HERE

Good morning beautiful sisters. I am posting from a Starbucks this morning. And here is why:

Saturday morning I got a text from my sister that my Dad may need to go to the ER. He had a rapid heartrate, high blood pressure, and very bad chest tightness. I told her to call 911 but he refused so I flew over there (quite literally if you count the speed bumps that put me into the air - NO ONE was around, so yes I was speeding and didn't see it) But I digress.

I got him to the hospital and we found out that he did have a heart attack and his heart is damaged. Since it was Easter weekend, they scheduled his procedures for this morning (unless something happened that was urgent).

So his procedure is at 10 am EST and it is currently not yet 9 and he asked that he had no visitors. So, I won't visit today (I've been there the past 2 days) but I will be sitting in the cardiac waiting room so that the surgeon can come out and tell me that everything went great!

I didn't know the time of the procedure(s) until I was already sitting here, lol. It just said "morning".

I am nervous and hopeful. I'm trusting in our great LORD who rose from the grave! I defer to Him and His will. But I would certainly love for things to go perfectly and for him to have several more really great years with us.

***Past week's pondering***

Oh you guys..... Since no one in my family reads my blog (or anyone but you guys! haha) I can tell you that my cousin's daughter who is only but a 13 year old (just a baby!) had to have both of her legs amputated last week. She was so close to death and we had so much prayer going for her and God saved her life but the world took her legs. Praying fervently for her recovery and that she and her mother would come to the LORD! I pray that what happened to her will give her strength and resilience and live a life that will be an example to others in the same situation.

*** The weather in my neck of the woods***

We're having our typical SE lower Michigan (Detroit area) weather.

Monday: 50 and partly sunny (it's beautifully sunny right now)

Tuesday: 37 partly cloudy

Wed: 49 and partly sunny

Thursday: 68 and cloudy

Friday: 59 cloudy/rainy

Saturday: 52 partly sunny

Sunday: 69 cloudy

*** Thinking about ***
That one's easy. Thinking about my Dad with my entire heart! My sisters and I were ALL mama's girls. My Dad was the bread winner. He read to all of us, played with us, but we were Mom's domain. But after my Mom passed 9 (!) years ago, we have all become very close with him. That is the ONLY good thing to come out of her passing away at 69 years old.

*** What I am wearing ***
Well, I'm out in public so I'm fully dressed today (insert laughing embarrassed crying here LOL) I have on a tiered and ruffled gray zip up jacket and black pants with a gray plaid-y pattern and black shoes. I have my hair brushed and fixed and actually have on a spot of makeup.

*** On The Reading Pile***
I am still on top of War and Peace! If you like classics or the Napoleonic wars - I highly recommend. (I'm not a fan of wars, but the writing is brilliant)

Very slowly reading book 4 of the Yada Yada Sisterhood books (highly highly recommend)

For my Bible study group with Diana Kokku, our book club reading (which I'm sadly behind on and the first meeting is tonight!) is: Book: Forgiveness by Randy Hogue*

*** What's on my tv ***
Jeff and I watched a couple of "classic" end-of-the-world movies from the early 80s. "Threads" and "The Day After". If you LIKE that stuff, I recommend them and they are both free on YouTube.

Speaking of YouTube:
Gardening videos
Thrifting for home/garden decor videos
House plant videos
Christian Women videos

***Favorite blog post/YouTube video last week***
I recently found this channel and this guy (boy to me honestly lol) is just so cute and so sweet and smiles all the time. He makes me happy. He gardens and shops for plants and goes thrifting.

***On the breakfast plate ***
Well, I'm at Starbucks, but trying to be healthy. I had steel cut oats with blueberries and a few slivered nuts and an English breakfast tea with some stevia.

*** On the lunch plate ***
Honestly no idea, depends on Dad and how things go.

*** On the dinner plate ***
Leftovers. We did not do Easter dinner due to Dad being in the hospital. Jeff did cook corned beef and veggies. So there are plenty of leftovers.

*** On the menu ***

Breakfasts: Eggs, diced potatoes, and a bit of leftover corned beef - just a bit!
Other days will probably be overnight oats or protein smoothies.

Lunches: I'm not sure. Haven't thought about it.

Monday :  Leftovers

Tuesday: No idea - maybe protein pasta - I have frozen cooked ground beef - and I have green peppers that need using up.

Wednesday If Dad gets home Tuesday (God willing) we will have something super heart healthy over his house to visit.
