Happy Homemaker Monday

Please visit Sandra for Happy Homemaker Monday!

IT IS COLD!!! We got a little bit of snow and ice over the weekend, but it dropped 11 degrees and I'm feeling it.  Tomorrow even a bit colder.

I am happily enjoying a Monday off, watching some cooking shows on YouTube.

*** The weather in my neck of the woods***

  • Tuesday - 16 Cloudy
  • Wednesday - 20 cloudy
  • Thursday - 24 cloudy
  • Friday - 27 cloudy
  • Saturday - 29 cloudy

*** Things that make me happy ***

Days off work. Family Uno night. Snow. Reading. Pink pens and highlighters.

*** Book I'm reading ***
Currently: Finally finishing up "Onyx Storm". "Writing Down the Bones"

Spiritually:  Bible, currently in Leviticus. Trusting God Day by Day devotion by Joyce Meyer. A Diary of Private Prayer by John Baillie.

Up Next: God has been convicting me to read something better for my soul - I mostly read thrillers, true crime, and lately some fantasy.  I can't say that I won't read any of that again - but I will look more at the other Christian thriller writers.  On my Kindle I have a Colleen Coble series "The Lavendar Tides".  I've always loved her books. I also have a few more of hers, a Francine Rivers, some Shanna Hatfield, Janette Oke, and many others from authors I've not heard of.  I'll let you know next week!

*** What's on my tv today ***
YouTube cooking, homemaking videos
Days of Our Lives
The Chosen

I received a trial of Angel Studios and watched the movie "Homestead" - it was quite good. There is a series, so I will probably catch that as well.

I ditched Netflix awhile back and now I have Great American Pure Flix.  I'm going to check out their programming as well.

*** On the breakfast plate ***

I meal-prepped a potato, white bean, and broccoli hash. Sounds weird, but it's delicious.

*** On the lunch plate ***
I also meal-prepped some chicken burrito bowls

*** On the dinner plate ***
I think that I will be making buccatini (like spaghetti with a hole through it?) with a mushroomy red sauce and a side of green beans.

*** On the menu ***

Monday Buccatini and green beans

Tuesday Leftover Koshari topped with pickled red onions

Wednesday Game night at dad's - tacos

Thursday Leftovers

Friday Hamburgerless Helper from last week

Saturday C.O.R.N soup or stew (clean out refrigerator night)

Sunday Crispy tofu bowls - making a sauce of soy, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, rice-wine vinegar, Probably forgetting something.

*** On my to do list***

 Today:

  • Dishes
  • Bible Study
  • Decluttering
  • Read
  • Sweep
  • Water plants

This week:
  • Work OT blah
  • Uno @ Dad's
  • Mop
  • Clean stove
  • Bible study
  • Writing sprints
  • Critique Group

*** New Recipe I tried or want to try ***

I did not have the energy to try all the recipes I wanted to. Work during tax time with OT is just draining - so I ended up eating much simpler things.  BUT!  I did make the Egyptian Koshari and it is delicious!

*** What I am writing ***
Same as above.  I did do final rewrites/edits through chapter 8.  I won't be writing much except blog posts until that is done!

*** No words needed (favorite photo or picture) ***

Snow out of my office windows

Starting Leviticus

Super chunky, super messy study Bible

My daily planner, just because she's pretty!

My fur-monster, Ollie Bear enjoying the corner of my bed

*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***

My favorite verse in Leviticus so far!

Comments

  1. That study Bible looks fun. I have written in my Bible so much and I keep thinking I will buy a study Bible, but never do.

  4. I love Colleen Coble and am listening to "Alaska Twilight" by her currently! I made the decision long ago to try to only read/listen to books that are Christian fiction/Clean. I really felt convicted about what I was putting in my head.

We have an orange striped cat named Ollie! His name is actually Oliver O'Malley :)

    Have a great weekend!
