***************************************************************************
WHAT DID I READ THIS WEEK:
I finally finished something! "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty White! I will post a review of it later this week. But it was wonderful!!
FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK I READ:
"From that time on, the world was hers for the reading. She would never be lonely again, never miss the lack of intimate friends. Books became her friends, and there was one for every mood." -Betty White, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
WHAT BOOKS DID I BUY/BORROW THIS WEEK:
I purchased "Anne Frank" - as I just really really want to read it again!
and "Big Summer" by Jennifer Weiner to read on my vacation later this month!

You have reminded me that I need to get back to my chapter a day readalong of War and Peace.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Are you doing that with Footnotes and Tangents? I made it about 1/3 of the way through W&P a couple of years ago. I was thinking of starting up again, but also thought I might wait until January when the slow read starts again!
DeleteOne thing that helped me get through The Iliad was reading a graphic novel version of the book, too. Odyssey or Iliad? Definitely Odyssey. So much fighting in The Iliad.
ReplyDeleteI need to find something to fuel my creativity! lol
Yes, it's the fighting in The Iliad that slows me down. Overall, I do like the actual story and have always enjoyed mythology. I'll just have to crawl through it at my own speed, I guess! LOL As for feeding creativity - I think I am going to add some art to my journaling. I did that before and loved it!
