I am linking up with Sandra from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for Happy Homemaker Monday
Before heading into HHM, I have to share some personal stuff. If you've read my blog before, you my know that my younger sister has end-stage liver disease and we are working toward a liver transplant. The past six months she has lost a lot of weight, but otherwise, she's been pretty stable. On Friday, she had a dizzy spell and passed out, landing on her face and ribs. I met the ambulance and my dad at the hospital. At first they thought she had a split lip but had escaped any further injury. We thought they might release her from the hospital. All her xrays were negative, head, neck, and back CT scans came back negative. Her ribs started to hurt more, so I told the nurse maybe she was ready for some pain meds. (She had refused them previously) When she told the ER dr, he recommended a CT of the chest. She refused, saying they were sore, but she didn't think that anything was broken. FUNNY thing is (not funny, totally a GOD thing) the guy from radiology came down and took her to CT for the scan by mistake. A bit later, the ER dr came back to tell her she has a bunch of rib fractures. They rushed Morphine into her and called in the trauma team. We thought she might be coming home today - but she's developed a fever and they are worried about pneumonia. Plus she is having some cirrhosis complications too. So all prayers are appreciated! <3
