I finished reading "Match Making for Beginners" 4.25 stars - Review coming later this week!
LAST WEEK ON THE BLOG:
*Book Review of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek
*Back to the Classics Challenge
*Happy Homemaker Monday
WHAT BOOKS DID I BUY/BORROW THIS WEEK:
All borrowed from Kindle Unlimited:
- Winter World by A.G. Riddle
- Darkness Falls by A. E. Faulkner
- Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
- The Perfect Mother by Caroline Mitchell
WHAT I'M READING RIGHT NOW:
A.G. Riddle's Winter World
And for the Classics Challenge:
Tess of the D'urbyvilles
WHAT ARE MY READING PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK: After Winter World I plan to begin "The Ten Thousand Doors of January" for the MMD book club. I meant to read it last week - but other books just won out!
BOOKSTORE I WANT TO VISIT: I'm visiting my best friend (and the office of my work-at-home job) in April. I'll be in Portsmouth NH. Sheafe Street Books is located in the area and looks like a great place! I'll definitely be stopping by. It sounds PERFECT!
From a review on Trip Advisor: "Cozy and crammed with books, this rambling collection of fact and fiction is compact, but broadly and smartly sampled. Stewarded by a well-rounded, friendly lit-lover and a fluffy feline (and some canaries), the shelves are whimsically classified and relaxed to reward the casual browser. Situated in a 200-year-old home in Portsmouth's fantastical historic district, there's a single sagging armchair piled with pillows, which may be the best dock in this renowned port town from which to embark on a tangent or two."
READTHONS & READ ALONGS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK:
There is still a week left in the Black Lit Challenge!
Also - a challenge which I plan to participate in to mark off another book in my Classics Challenge, the One Hundred Years of Solitude Read Along, hosted by Silvia Cachia
MY BOOK MINISTRY: I'll be dropping 4 great books into the Little Free Library this week. I will share pictures in next week's Monday Book Report"!
That cover for Match Making looks so good. I think I saw it earlier somewhere...
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved BookWoman as well and reviewed it this week like you did :)
Tess is one of my favorite novels by Hardy ..
I will check out your review! Match Making is on Kindle Unlimited - and they show it on their main page a lot! I'm still only about 10% into Tess - but I already love her character!
DeleteMatch Making for Beginners sounds like a fun read. Beautiful cover, too.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing the challenges you are hoping to take on. Good for you!
I always enjoy visiting small bookstores. I hope you'll share some photos when you return home.
Have a wonderful week.
I definitely recommend MM for Beginners! So good :) I am hoping to go to a great local used bookstore over the weekend or early next week - so hopefully some pictures of those soon!
DeleteThe bookstore in NH sounds tempting. Enjoy visiting it...and reading all of your books.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and have a great week.
Good luck with your reading plans. I so enjoyed Tess!
ReplyDeleteI read "Tess of the D" for a book report when I was a senior in high school when everyone else was reading books as thin as they could find them! lol I've always loved reading :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you can stop by:
