Happy Homemaker Monday - Late Again!
Visit Sandra to join in with Happy Homemaker Monday! Happy July! I'm late to posting yet again. I am kind of a wreck today. There are so many areas of my life that I feel are such a tremendous blessing!! Yet I'm letting the one thing (my job) that is really crushing my soul take over everything.
I've been trying to get outside daily to read. I'm freckled from head to toe lol. My balcony is my special place to be with nature and to be with God. It's been more than I'd hoped.
*** The weather in my neck of the woods***
While I AM happy that the upper 90's weather is gone for the week, I am not happy about the lack of sunshine. Guess you can't have it all.
Tuesday: - 81 partly cloudy - chance of rain
Wednesday - 80 and thunderstorms
Thursday - 81 and partly cloudy
Friday - 81 and partly cloudy
Saturday - 85 partly cloudy
Sunday - 82 partly cloudy
*** Things that make me happy ***
Flowers growing wild and crazy outside. Air conditioning!!! Books. Notebooks. Rolly carts.
*** Book I'm reading ***
I finished reading 1984 and Brave New World for Hardcore Literature. I'm now reading The Iliad (we'll see how long that lasts) and I'm going to start "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" for an online women's classics bookclub. I'm also reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and A Calendar of Wisdom by Leo Tolstoy.
I'm looking for something light and fun to take on vacation with me next month. Something summery and romantic.
AND - I want to re-read some Nancy Drew books!
*** What's on my tv today ***
Pretty much all YouTube all the time! (Why do I pay for channels??!!!)
*** On the breakfast plate ***
Jimmy Dean Delight turkey sausage/egg white English Muffin
*** On the lunch plate ***
Something relatively healthy from Panda Express (greens, shrimp)
*** On the dinner plate ***
Blackened chicken, baked potato, Brussels sprouts
*** On the menu ***
Tuesday Blackened chicken, potatoes, Brussels
Wednesday Adobo Shrimp, roasted peppers and onions, brown rice
Thursday Lean Cuisine most likely
Friday Protein pasta with shrimp and broccoli in a lemon sauce, salad
Saturday Chicken tacos
Sunday Morningstar Farms chik'n sandwich homemade fries
*** On my to do list ***
This week: The usual - working, writing, reading, YouTubing, cleaning. Going to Dad's and I think a walk in the park with my sister. Not much on the agenda!
*** What I am creating ***
I am writing my 3rd book. The first one is being sent to Beta readers this month. Once I get their feedback and make any last adjustments, it will be published! The 2nd book (unrelated) needs to be edited and maybe some rewrites. I'd like to have it published by November 1st since it takes place at Christmastime. I'm about 12,000 words into the 3rd book which is in the same series as the first. (Not confusing at all)
*** No words needed (favorite photo or picture) ***
*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
Praying for those affected by the flooding in Texas. Such a horrible tragedy. My heart hurts.
