WHAT DID I READ THIS WEEK: I finished three books this week! One e-book, one real book, and one audiobook.
Book review: The Great Alone
Book review: The Storyteller's Secret
I also finished Tayari Jones' "An American Marriage" - I was not a huge fan. You can read my mini Goodreads review HERE.
FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK I READ:
WHAT BOOKS DID I BUY/BORROW THIS WEEK:
From the library:
E-books borrowed on Libby (3 of my favorite authors) :
Nora Roberts: Star of Fortune
Colleen Coble: The Inn at Ocean's Edge
Terri Blackstock: Truth Stained Lies
Purchased (for free) on Kindle:
Jane Steen: The House of Closed Doors
Kristine Raymond: Here to Stay
WHAT IS THE BOOK I MOST WANT TO GET MY HANDS ON RIGHT NOW: I'm on the wait list at the library for Shirley Jackson's The House on Haunted Hill. Really excited about reading that.
WHAT ARE MY READING PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK: I hope to finish the Nora Roberts book and Sons of Blackbird Mountain as well as the audiobook The Graveyard Book.
ANYTHING READING RELATED, ETC.: I'm looking forward to the start of Frankenfest as well as The Classics Club's Goth Month! Spooky reading to come!
Yay for finishing 3 books! That's 2 more than me this week. *sigh* Good luck on this week's goal! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I average about 1 per week - I'd like to pick that up to about 2 per week next year. I don't think I"ve ever read more than 80 books in a year.
DeleteOoh Frankenfest looks fun- I love all the spooky activities in October :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. I think it will be a lot of fun!
DeleteI love Neil Gaiman but I still need to read The Graveyard Book. Thanks for visiting my blog, too.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is a huge fan of the book Coraline, she's read it a dozen times. I wanted to read The Graveyard Book, but there was a long wait at my library. The audiobook was there so I figured I would go that route!
DeleteI love the autumn look of your blog!
ReplyDeleteI need to catch up on my Nora Roberts reading. Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I love Nora Roberts. Her writing has changed so much over the decades of her career!
DeleteYou had a great reading week. Hope this is another great week for you.
ReplyDeleteNice job finishing up some books. I couldn't have read An American Marriage. It would have angered me. Colleen Coble is always a good read. Hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteAn American Marriage DID anger me. I guess it's good to read a book like that once in a great while, lol. I agree Colleen Coble is always good!
DeleteI liked The Great Alone very much although very sad in parts. I love anything she writes!
ReplyDeleteIt was really sad. Especially when she was losing her mom. I lost my mom 1-1/2 years ago in the same way - it was hard going through that part. She is one of my favorite authors!
DeleteI think I finished a few last week too. This week hasn't been as good. I hope to finish up one. I have lots of school work to do so don't know if I will get a chance to read more than that. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary
I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book on Audio. I like the cover of Sons of Blackbird Mountain. Hope you enjoy your reading this week!
