Book Review: Trapper Road by Rachel Caine and Carrie Ryan

GENRE: Thrillers.  Women Private Investigators. Serial Killers. 

SERIES: This is the 6th installment of the Stillhouse Lake series. 

AUTHOR(S):  The first five books were written by one of my favorite authors, Rachel Caine.  She may be best known for her YA books.  Rachel was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma and passed on November 1st, 2020.  You can read Publisher's Weekly's Obituary Post HERE and a touching letter/post from a fan of her YA novels HERE.   For her sixth book, Carrie Ryan worked with Caine and I am hopeful that she will keep the Stillhouse Lake novels going!

MY THOUGHTS: I have loved this series from the first page. It is gripping and exciting and sometimes shocking. But throughout it all, you have this family who sticks together through everything. They can count on one another, and they protect each other. 

For this sixth book, the main character Gwen gets pulled into another murder mystery. In this installment, her kids are older and have more of their own storyline. Conner, her son, plays a large role in this book and he gets himself into some dangerous situations. 

Throughout the book, they are setting us up for a 7th book. One of Gwen's enemies from the past is playing sinister games with the family and you can already feel that he will be the villain of the next book!  I'm looking forward to it! 

MY RATING: I have to give this book 5 stars - and the entire series overall 5 stars.  The books are all so exciting and have you on the edge of your seat while still presenting you with well thought out characters who you will fall in love with!  

Highly recommend the entire series!
