Blogmas Day 14: Christmas Dinner for Less

With the cost of groceries skyrocketing in 2023, it might be difficult to put out a huge feast this Christmas.  Here are a few ideas that might just save you money while still having a nice dinner to put on the table.

1. Roast chicken with roasted potatoes and carrots with a side of peas.

2. Pot roast with gravy over mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts

3. Cornish hens, stuffing, green beans, and an apple pie.

4.  Ham steaks and homemade mac and cheese with steamed broccoli

5. Pasta fagioli or minestrone with homemade garlic bread

6. Eggplant parmigiana over pasta with a mixed green salad and homemade vinaigrette

7. Balsamic roasted pork roast with baked potatoes and asparagus

8. If you watch the sales paper, many grocery stores will have either a turkey or ham for a ridiculously cheap price with additional purchase.  I scored a 14-pound turkey for 5.44 at Thanksgiving.  With that under your belt you can pull together a special dinner with other things you have in your pantry.
