Blogmas Day 18: Winter Self-Care
Winter is hard on the skin, the hair, the nails, your mental and physical health. It can be harsh with cold weather, high winds, gray skies, ice and snow. It's more important than ever to take time to give yourself some extra care.
*Take time to relax. Get a cup of herbal tea, a warm blanket, and a good book and give yourself permission to just relax and enjoy.
* Journal. If you haven't tried it before, or if you have and you weren't crazy about it - give it another try. Just go all in with a brain dump and get all of the things that are weighing on your mind out on paper. It helps! It doesn't need to be eloquent or pretty - it just needs to get onto the paper! (Or try a gratitude journal!)
*Skip a shower and take a bath instead. Steep in hot water with some bath oils or a bath bomb. Really let the aches and pains melt away!
*Do a gentle stretching class - there are plenty of free ones all over the internet. Be slow and intentional.
*Get a few green plants to help through the gray days of winter
*Have a day in watching some of your all-time favorite movies
*Color! You can find books at Dollar Tree or on Amazon or print off free coloring pages online - it's great for stress relief!
*Get on top of your moisturizing routine - Here are a bunch of homemade moisturizers for you to try!
*Put it in your planner - a couple of hours just for self-care. Doing your nails, doing an undereye treatment or a facial. You can do it.
Don't forget that you are important and deserve to be taken care of!
